LEAF Program
CME is delivering a new program that focuses on increasing energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing processes in Nova Scotia. It concentrates on consultant-based assessments that investigate productivity (LEAN) potential, energy savings and environmental impacts. The program also includes educational sessions that will be done throughout the province and will produce a database of actual effective practices and results. The targeted outcome of the program is to help clients apply for further sources of funding and to develop proactive solutions for implementation of recommendations. The LEAN + Energy Efficiency and Environment Focus Program, or LEAF, acknowledges the financial support of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Natural Resources Canada and the Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation.
LEAF Components
- Consultant efficiency audits with productivity (LEAN), energy, and/or environment focus, worth up to $6,000, of which 75 per cent of the cost will be covered under the program (25 per cent will be paid by the client company).
- Target clients are small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing and export industries that would be eligible for energy efficiency, investment and other related programs.
- CME has a dedicated interactive website that provides information and registration for clients and consultants, links to related programs and updates on the program.
- CME will work with clients to help them identify sources of funding and develop applications for assistance.
- CME will provide continuing education for clients through regular workshops and LEAF sessions.
Nova Scotia Power is supporting LEAF to increase the number of clients for its Commercial and Industrial Custom Electrical Efficiency program. We invite potential clients, consultants and sponsors to join the program.
