In the past few months, lower world oil prices and a stronger US dollar have highlighted the changing nature of the global economy. Being part of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters is key to being able to turn these challenges into opportunities. The Board of Directors at CME Nova Scotia are committed to working with our members and partners to help identify and leverage opportunities to grow and increase their businesses.
I would like to welcome our new vice-chair, Michel Raymond, (Pratt & Whitney Canada) who is taking an active role in reviewing our committee and working group structure. We want to ensure we are responding to members’ needs and issues by creating the right governance models.
I would also like to welcome our new Vice President, Carole Lee Reinhardt, who comes to us from the Province of Nova Scotia. Carole Lee has a graduate degree in management, in addition to being a Certified Management Accountant. For the past seven years, she has been working directly manufacturers and exporters as Director Aerospace and Defence Investment and more recently as the Executive Lead developing and implementing a business productivity initiative.
We will be refocusing our strategic plan to ensure we are delivering value for your membership dollar and that we are in full alignment with CME nationally who are completing a similar refresh. I welcome your comments and suggestions as we go forward with this process.
Paul MacIsaac, Chair CME Nova Scotia
