Feedback on Nova Scotia’s Cap and Trade Design Options paper

Published by Marie Morden on April 10, 2017

On March 8, 2017, the Nova Scotia Department of Environment released a discussion paper outlining high-level design options for Nova Scotia's cap and trade program (the "Discussion Paper"), along with specific questions related to the program's components. The Nova Scotia Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters ("NS CME") appreciates the significant efforts undertaken on this matter by the Province to date and the opportunity to continue to provide public input on this important topic. The NS CME represents Nova Scotia's manufacturing sector, which consists of approximately 1690 companies that employ approximately 28,700 Nova Scotians. Please accept the following feedback on behalf of the NS CME. The NS CME is willing to offer more detailed comments as the system evolves and as the Province ultimately moves toward the development of legislation and regulations which reduce GHG emissions while supporting a strong economy in which industry can flourish.
